Karama Academy
An extended, intensive course that prepares lawyers and trainee lawyers to specialise in security-classified cases, combining legal study with hands-on training alongside the center’s partner lawyers.

“Karama Academy” is a professional training project: an extended, intensive course that prepares lawyers and trainee lawyers to specialise in cases classified as security cases.
The academy combines legal study with practical training alongside lawyers who partner with the center, allowing participants to follow real cases and understand what handling them requires at every stage.
The program covers the legal framework for these cases and the relevant legislation, and goes deep into a case’s path through the courts: from arrest and interrogation, through detention-extension hearings and the filing of the indictment, to trial, sentencing and appeal proceedings. Participants train in reading interrogation material and analysing evidence, preparing defence arguments and pleadings, building a defence strategy, and dealing with the procedures and restrictions specific to security cases.
Practical training with the partner lawyers is a core part of the program: participants learn how to manage and follow a case, communicate with the detainee and their family, prepare for hearings, and visit prisoners and follow up on their legal needs.
The academy aims to build a cadre with specialised knowledge and practical experience, and to strengthen lawyers’ ability to provide professional legal representation that protects the rights of detainees and prisoners and keeps pace with the complexity of their cases.
